Maro's Mizithropitakia Recipe

One of the most traditional meze you will find in the island of Crete is Mizithropitakia (little Mizithra cheese pastries). If you can find sour or semi-sour Mizithra cheese, this is one of the easiest and tastiest Greek starters you can make at home.

Mizithra cheese is a whey cheese, or mixed milk & whey cheese, made from sheep or goat's milk (sometimes using both). It is primarily produced in the island of Crete but is widespread throughout Greece.

There are many variations of this recipe, but in this video we use a recipe from one of Greekosophy's very own mums, Maro Nikiforaki
